Almost Home

Pinned to a red blanket wrapped around a baby girl, placed on the steps of the police station was this note......

I will be grateful to you my whole life

Kind people will be blessed

She was born on March 16, 2002 in lunar

calendar

(which is April 28, 2002 in the western

calendar)

She was in the police station for three days, then placed in the Beijing Children's Welfare Institute. She was given the name Ge Ying Ying. Ge is the name given to every girl. Ying Ying means "hope for a good life in the orphanage". She did not walk at all until surgery at five and a half. Ying Ying had to stay at the orphanage most of the time b/c of her limp. Which was difficult when the other kids went on trips. On June 17, was her official adoption day, which was the start of her very own journey. Today on the 23rd of June she received her visa. Yesterday, while in the van she told our guide she really wants to learn English. Our guide told her what her American name was, and the meaning of it. She was very excited, and said that she preferred it! Goodbye!.... just kidding. Her American name means " beautiful flower" Jacie Renee King is almost home.
