A Devote Jewish Family, An Olympic Speed Racer, A Chinese Mermaid and...A Pirate

One of the funniest things about this hotel is that at the pool everyone has to wear 'bathing caps.' Yeah, pretty cool. Since we 'left' our swimming caps at home, we had to buy some. They are so great. Jet black and fairly small. The best part is that when Bart and Loren wear them, their heads are so big they slip up to crown their heads. Really, they look like very devote Jewish Men. I laugh every time...They do not.

Now Jared's cap is a little different. Can you say bright white and blue stripes...Yup! It's the best. I call him my Olympic superstar.

Little Miss herself is the only one of us that looks good in her cap. It is one of the small black caps and it just about fits her. So you can imagine how Bart and Loren look. Having said that, she is quite the little water baby. We found out today that she had never been swimming before she went with us. We see her progressing through all of the basic swimming steps pretty quickly. It helps that we got her the Little Mermaid for her new Chinese DVD player.

I couldn't figure out half of her antics at the pool until I remembered the DVD...Yeah, she tried everything to make a fin out of her feet. She tied floaties to them, tied them to her hands, etc. After each failed attempt, she would come up with something new. Very entertaining to watch, except I had to rescue her on a regular basis because if you tie a floatie to your feet, they float to the top and your head goes where???

I found the DVD store and was so pleased to bring her back some cartoons. They didn't work on our DVD player. it kept saying, "Out of Region." So we ended up having to purchase another DVD player. We figure that we might need it to entertain her on the 14 1/2 hour flight home...

What I didn't realize was that the DVDs I so carefully selected came from a store that pirates DVDs. I always knew that the blood of the pirates ran through my veins...
