Do You Read Me?

My little lady was taken out by her grandma to have lunch and get her nails painted yesterday. Well, she was supposed to be. When grandma picked her up she asked, "Jacie, would you like to get your nails done?"

Jacie's reply, "No, I don't think so (or something of that nature.)" So instead of a day of beautiful nails, they spent part of the day and money selecting an Iron Man toy that shoots darts and repeatedly says, "I am Iron Man."

Of course, we already know who he is...so he is repeatedly telling us something we already know.

The good news? She loves him. It was such a treat for her to be taken out like that and to have a little money to spend. A big shout out to grandma for adapting her plans for the day to include what makes this little girl tick. She needs people in her life that do accept her for exactly what she is and she is definite about what it is. We have no faker here. If she likes it...she will tell you. If she doesn't...she will tell you. Really she is a piece of work. Bart and I say routinely that it is a blessing that she is so stinking cute...

She just walked up to me and said, "Good to see you."

"Oh... good to see you too." I laughed when I replied because we have seen each other all morning. I think that I have just been woven into her playing. Which includes, I am certain, nothing short of saving the world single-handily. Most of the time, I am so out of the loop that I don't realize that she has just saved me from the bad guys or worse yet, the good guys who were really bad... Keeping up is a lot of work.

"Mom, I'm going to fight bad guys." That was her latest comment to me as she walked by with the computer headset/microphone, an old cell phone and several other techie items. I believe that she may think she is a cross between Superman, Princess Leia and a secret agent. I just pinned on her cape and she is off. Her cape is actually a pillowcase so I hope she doesn't plan on flying too far. That could get kinda ugly.

She is sitting next to me saying, "One-one-six, this is one-one-six. Do you read me?" I guess her language is coming along. It is very hard on her that I am not playing with her right this very second. If she could just have my undivided attention for all twenty-four hours of the day, then she would be happy. For now, she must content herself with guarding me as I type out her life story for the world to read.

I must go now and join her in her quest to save the world though I wonder if the quest is to actually take over the world...

This is an amazing journey and I am blessed every moment of it.
